DESIGN FINALS

General Information

  • All student designers & technical directors of associate and participating production are invited to the regional festival. You should be contacted by the Regional Design & Technology Chair. If you believe that you have qualified for the Design Finals (or if you are unsure), but have not yet been contacted, please ask the Regional Design & Technology Chair.
  • You must be registered for the Festival in order to participate in the Design Finals.
  • You may present one design per design category.
  • Register for the Festival using the Festival Registration Form.
  • Register for the Design Finals by sending the Design Finals Registration Form to the Regional Design Coordinator.
  • Once you have registered, you will be assigned a time to present your design.  If we have no response from you by February 1, we cannot guarantee we will have a time available for you.  Please note any possible time conflicts on the registration form.
  • At Festival you will be assigned a 4' x 4' display space.  It is likely you will not have room for all your required design materials but you should have them available for your oral presentation.

Adjudication Process

  • Designs are evaluated on the basis of your gallery display and your oral presentation.
  • Each designer will give a five minute period to offer an oral presentation of their design which will be followed by a three minute question and answer session by the design panel.
  • The five minute presentation will be timed and the designer may not exceed the time limit. Please plan your presentation accordingly.
